While all people like to be entertained, there are differences of opinions as to what is entertaining. True, as the old saying goes, "The quickest way to fail is to try to please everyone," you can still please the majority. To do that, look at your audience and determine what kind of entertainment they would actually pay to see. Consider the overall demographics of your group. For example: If you have an international group, a comedian may not be effective, unless that comedian knows how to work in front of that type of audience.
Don't Forget Us - Customization:
The corporate entertainer should be able to customize his or her presentation to include some key messaging that you want your group to hear. Obviously, if you're booking a band, that is not the case. I'm speaking about comedians, corporate magicians and mentalists, jugglers, etc. These talents should be able to incorporate some messaging into their presentations. For customer appreciation events the messaging may be lighter than for a sales group or maybe not. If the talent has corporate experience (and why would you hire that person if they didn't?) during your conference call, ask their opinion.
Odessa - I’m the owner. When I started choreographing and doing industrial events I started getting requests for actors for different events. Because I was spending a lot of time doing that I started booking actors for events. There are only so many films that shoot in Vancouver that need dancer, so it helps to have other avenues of work.
How many times do you attend an event and the logo of the host is 4 times the size of your name on the badge? This event is marketing and marketing is all about the client, the prospect and the professional connection. Make the badges, like the food, user friendly. For all our events and seminars we print a BIG Christian name a smaller surname, a line, and then the company name. It makes it so much easier for you and your guests and stops certain people from leering!

Here in the West, a lifestyle of unnecessary spending has been deliberately cultivated and nurtured in the public by big business. Companies in all kinds of industries have a huge stake in the public’s penchant to be careless with their money. They will seek to encourage the public’s habit of casual or non-essential spending whenever they can.
In the documentary The Corporation, a marketing psychologist discussed one of the methods she used to increase sales. Her staff carried out a study on what effect the nagging of children had on their parents’ likelihood of buying a toy for them. They found out that 20% to 40% of the purchases of their toys would not have occurred if the child didn’t nag its parents. One in four visits to theme parks would not have taken place. They used these studies to market their products directly to children, encouraging them to nag their parents to buy
This marketing campaign alone represents many millions of dollars that were spent because of demand that was completely manufactured. “You can manipulate consumers into wanting, and therefore buying, your products. It’s a game.” ~ Lucy Hughes, co-creator of “The Nag Factor” This is only one small example of something that has been going on for a very long time. Big companies didn’t make their millions by earnestly promoting the virtues of their products, they made it by creating a culture of hundreds of millions of people that buy way more than they need and try to chase away dissatisfaction with money.
We buy stuff to cheer ourselves up, to keep up with the Joneses, to fulfill our childhood vision of what our adulthood would be like, to broadcast our status to the world, and for a lot of other psychological reasons that have very little to do with how useful the product really is. How much stuff is in your basement or garage that you haven’t used in the past year?
